RØROS 2005

First a visit to Jan Borchgrevink – my father – at Brastad in Bohuslän, Sweden

Then on to RØROS, NORWAY (also called NOREG these days)

(700 km by rental car)

The Family Church at Røros

the two main streets

local atmosphere – 40 artists live here 4 sausages 280 Kr.

the town is under UNESCO protection

in the middle of the town is the old mining facility

The Borchgrevinks were the leaders of the mine for 2 generations and lived accordingly

A total of 120 Borchgrevinks and their spouses attended the re-union representing 3 main branches of the family

Then on to a concert in the “Borchgrevink Church” with music composed by Melchior Borchgrevink in the seventeenth century.
